The Brief
Mercedes-Benz sought New Digital Noise to implement an augmented reality kiosk to market its new generation B-Class model.
The Solution
To promote the Mercedes-Benz new generation B-Class model, New Digital Noise created an augmented reality kiosk for five selected Pacific Coffee branches.
The campaign ran from 25 Aug – 30 Sep 2008 at Dorset House, Taikoo, Windsor House, Great Eagle Centre, Hutchison House, Peking Road and in-store.
Customised postcards were printed with special markers to activate live computer-generated 3D animation.
Mechanics:
1) Activate the 3D test-drive by scanning the specially-marked postcard under the kiosk camera.
2) Alter the car (movements, size) by placing the postcard at various positions or distance from the camera.
3) Press the marker to activate the 3D demonstration of the key features.
4) Flip the postcard to activate the animated 3D Parking Assist demonstration.
The Result
The campaign encouraged interaction and showcased key features of the car. Users were able to virtually test-drive the new Mercedes-Benz in an innovative way that led people to physically test-drive the vehicle.
