  • The Brief

    Nokia’s N81 launched over Christmas of 2008 with an interactive installation sure to delight the child in all of us.

    The Solution

    A capsule vending machine was created to promote Nokia’s N81.  50,000 capsules housed mini-toy Nokia Nseries mobiles, of which 5 were special edition pieces that could redeem a real Nokia N81 mobile.  The vending machine resembled the Nokia Nseries line.

     

    For $10, players could try their luck at redeeming a real Nokia N81 in tandem with receiving a toy mobile.

     

    The vending machines were placed in three carefully selected high traffic areas, Causeway Place, the Common Space and California Red.

    The Result

    The Nokia capsule vending machines were extremely popular during the promotional period and generated a lot of traffic to their respective locations.  The Nseries received a lot of publicity at the time

     

    All money generated from the vending machines was donated to charity upon completion of the campaign.
